A train carring passengers from Howrh to New Delhi on july 2011 met an accident causing the shoking death of more than 65 passengers.

This accident is one of the worst accident in the year, this accident occured near Kanpur of Utter Pradesh, due to the use of emergency brake suddenly. The train was 15-coach mail which was started with more than 1115 passenger. The shaken passengers tried to escape by breaking the glass windows of the 3 AC tier coaches of the train. Meanwhile Rescue operations were conducted involving over 220 policemen and coaches were being cut using gas cutters. In the rescue operation, because of lack or rescues people, Indian Army were aslo deployedand rescue the trains and passengers. National Disaster Relief Force specialized team also rushed to the spot to offer their assistance to the shocked travelers.

The cause of the derailment was not immediately clear, but it appeared that the driver applied the emergency brakes, Jain said. Rescue workers pulled at least 100 injured passengers out of the wreckage, said Brij Lal, a state police official.
