Australia PR Updates/Changes in 2017; General Skilled Migration Update - September 2017

Australia PR Updates/Changes in 2017

Australian's SkillSelect results for the 20 September round have been released. Most occupations, the required score continues to be declined. The required score for Accountants to receive an invitation has increased to 85 points.
NSW also has released its Priority Skilled Occupations List for 2017-18 and should soon start nominating applicants for the Skilled Nominated 190 visa.
This article looks at the latest SkillSelect invitation round and at the NSW State Migration Plan for 2017-18.

20 September SkillSelect Invitation Round

For non-pro rata occupations, the required score for a Skilled Independent Subclass 189 invitation remains at 65 points. However, waiting times with this score are now down to 1 week, so we expect the required score to drop to 60 points in the next invitation round.
Most pro rata occupations remain stable, but the occupation of Accountant required 85 points in the last round, up from 75 points. The same number of invitations was issued in the 20 September round (239), so this result is very difficult to understand. We are currently seeking clarification from the Department of Immigration as it appears that there may be an error with the SkillSelect system.
We will post further information as it becomes available. Below is a summary of results by occupation for the 20 September round:

NSW Priority Skilled Occupations List Released

NSW has released the long-awaited Priority Skilled Occupations List. So far this program year, NSW has not granted many 190 Nominations and we expect that NSW will resume the invitation and processing of Skilled Nominated Subclass 190 nominations in the coming weeks.
The NSW list is similar to the list for Independent and Family Sponsored visas (IFSOL). There have been a number of occupations added and subtracted as compared to the 2016-17 list:

Occupations Added

The following occupations which are also on the IFSOL have been added:
  • Architect
  • Chemical, Electronics, Industrial, Production and Plant Engineers
  • ICT Security Specialists
  • Civil Engineering Technicians
  • Stonemasons
There are also a number of occupations which are not on the IFSOL which are available for NSW nomination including:
  • Baker
  • Cook
  • Enrolled Nurse
  • Architectural Draftsperson
  • Butcher or Smallgoods Maker

Occupations Removed

A number of occupations which are on the IFSOL have been removed including:
  • Surveyors, Cartographers and Other Spatial Scientists
  • Agricultural Engineers, Consultants and Foresters
  • Teachers of the hearing and sight impaired, as well as special education teachers
  • Chiropractor and Osteopaths
  • Speech Pathologists
  • A range of Medical practitioner specialisations - such as General Practitioners, Cardiologists, Surgeons etc
  • Electrical and electronics trades such as Electrician (Special Class), Electronic Instrument Trades Workers, Radio Communications Technicians, Telecommunications Field Engineers and Cable Jointers
  • Boat Builders and Shipwrights
Other occupations appear to have been removed as a result of being also removed from the IFSOL, including:
  • Mining Engineers
  • Occupational Health and Safety Adviser
  • Anaesthetist
  • Psychotherapist
  • Dental Technician

Conclusion

The results in the latest SkillSelect round are very unexpected for accountants. For all other occupations, results were in line with expectations and we expect the required points for a 189 invitation to reduce to 60 for non-pro rata occupations in the next round.
NSW has reduced their priority skilled occupations list somewhat, but there are still some great opportunities for state nomination through NSW.

We can easily do assessment of our qualification and experience our self. We can definitely save some money giving to Agent. I did he same, I did my assessment from ACS for my qualification and experience successfully.

Here are the steps for IT professionals:

  1. Prepare documents and attest them following the guidelines (https://www.acs.org.au/msa/skills-assessment-guidelines-for-applicants.html).
  2. Create account in ACS (https://id.acs.org.au/memberlogin) and login.
  3. In dashboard, click 'New Application'.  This will navigate to another page that contains options of assessment.
  4. Select 'Skills (Qualifications and Work Experience required)', Select appropriate ANZSCO code from the list box. Makes sure that you select correct option and click 'Continue'. You can find ANZSCO list here. For example I had selected 261313 (Software Engineer)   for my assessment as shown in below screen.
  5. In this page (Personal Details), provide/upload personal details and click 'Continue' as shown in below screen
  6. In this page (Application Details), provide/upload qualification and experience details and click 'Continue' as shown in below screen.

What are Risks of rejecting Australia PR visa

Many people may have this question in their mind before applying Australia PR to know what are the risk of rejecting visa.
In my experience, I have observed following reason that may reject Visa:

  1. Incomplete document not sent even after they remind with in time frame.
  2. Fake document like qualification or Experience because some they call and verify.
  3. Medical report not good
  4. Police record not good

Apart from above, I don't see any major reason to reject visa.

Should I apply Australia PR process myself or hire an Agent?

Should I apply Australia PR process myself or hire an Agent? Most of the people may ask this question so that they could save some money. Because migration agent charge processing fee from 1500 US to 3000 USD depending on countries. So this amount may be big.
Coming to the answer, I would say YES and NO.

YES:Yes you can apply yourself but with some  risk. Because if you don't provide all the necessary information in time because of lack of time or lack of knowledge then your application might get rejected due to delay response. So to apply yourself you must need to make sure that you know lot of information about what is required and what is not with in time

NO: If you don't know more information, or don't have time to follow up all the details then rather than taking risk, I suggest you to hire a agent or go to an migration agent to process you file.

For me, I have done first step like (assessing my qualification and experience from ACS for IT work) myself. Then I approach a migration agent to process from Mumbai India.

What is the national language of India?

What is the national language of India?
Which language should learn to visit India?

Referring at various source, I could not find single national language of India. Although all the stated have their own local language, however majority of the states have accepted 'Hindi' as national language but because of few states, Hindi is not the officially declared as national language yet.
Dr.Ambedkar, the architect of Indian constitution wanted Sanskrit as the national language of India. However, India didn't choose any national language because of different opinion of few states.

But, in most of the places of India or majority people of India understand Hindi. So, for the tourist, or the person who want to visit India, person needs to choose the language based on the places that he/she wanted to visit. If the person is going to visit all metropolitan cities then English and Hindi would be best option, because either of these language will be definitely spoken.
